Southwest Virginia Counties Joining National Opioid Lawsuit

Attorneys representing several southwest Virginia counties are joining national lawyers in an effort to sue major prescription drug manufactures and distributors. The lawsuit seeks compensation for costs associated with the growing drug abuse crisis in the region. Attorneys representing Russell, Wythe and Smyth Counties say the drug abuse epidemic is costing southwest Virginia taxpayers millions of dollars each year. Other southwest Virginia counties are expected to join the suit.
