Tazewell County To Close Two Schools

The Tazewell County School Board votes in favor of closing two elementary schools despite strong opposition from parents, students and teachers. With parents in attendance, the board voted to close Raven and Springville Elementary Schools. Now, about 140 students at Raven will attend Richlands Elementary, while Springville students will be going to Dudley Primary and Graham Intermediate Schools. The board meets this Friday to finalize and approve next years operating budget.
