Abingdon Residents Told To Stay Clear of Meadows Retail Development Site While Under Construction
Abingdon Virginia’s Police Department is warning residents to stay clear of a 73 acre retail development and sports complex that’s in its final stages of construction. According to police, residents are driving around road barriers and walking around on the Meadows Development site and are creating, among other things, a traffic issue at the site. Crews are expected to begin construction of a new Food City and other retail shops in September. The town of Abingdon owns 40 acres near the development site and plan to build a sports complex on the location.
