One Injured In Scott County, Virginia Officer Involved Shooting

One person is injured in an officer involved shooting in Scott County, Virginia on Tuesday night. Sheriff John Puckett says two deputies attempting to serve an emergency custody order to take a man for mental evaluations were confronted by the man when he pointed a gun out the door of his home at the two officers. Both officers fired their service weapons, striking and wounding the man. He was taken to a Kingsport hospital where he underwent surgery late Tuesday night.. Neither of the deputies were hurt and Virginia State Police continue the investigation.
