Search Warrant Leads To More Serious Charges For Blountville Man

A warrant served for failure to pay child support has now turned into more serious charges against a Blountville man. Police went to serve a warrant on 29 year old Matthew Phillips of Beechnut City Road. When police arrived, Phillips fled on a motorcycle, but was quickly apprehended. Following a search police found a stolen 9mm handgun, methamphetamine, and almost three thousand dollars in cash. Phillips is now facing evading police, drugs and stolen property charges.
