Three Kingsport Hospital Employees Infected With Hepatitis A

Three staff members of Indian Path Community Hospital in Kingsport have been infected with Hepatitis A, according to Ballad Health officials who operate the hospital. Now out of precaution, all team members at the hospital will receive vaccinations. Tennessee normally averages about four to five acute Hepatitis A cases per year, since 2017 the state has reported 647 cases, with fifteen of those in our area. The increase in Hepatitis A cases is a result of an ongoing national outbreak of the illness.
