No Tax Increase…Raise For County Employees And Teachers In Washington County, Tennessee

No increase in taxes, and a two percent raise for county employees and school personnel were approved Monday night by Washington County Tennessee Commissioners. The balanced budget will provide a two percent salary hike for county employees and school faculty and staff. The money for teacher raises comes from both the state and local levels. School officials hope the increase for teachers will keep Washington County competitive with surrounding school systems.
