HCSO Releases New Information About Friday Night Murder/Suicide Incident

The identities have been released of the individuals involved in a murder-suicide in Hawkins County Friday night.

Sheriff Ronnie Lawson says detectives with the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Department discovered an argument ensued between Joshua Kennedy, 34, and Katherine Kennedy, 32, at a home on 2007 Walter Drive in Bulls Gap, TN. It was determined Joshua shot Katherine before turning the gun on himself. Joshua died at the scene, and Katherine was rushed to the Hawkins County Memorial Hospital before succumbing to her injuries. Detectives say other family members were at the home during the incident.
