Man Arrested After Returning To Get Stashed Drugs

A Elizabethton man who fled police on foot after a routine traffic stop is jailed on various drug charges. Johnson City Police conducted a traffic stop at E. Lakeview Drive and Sandy Drive when the suspect, 23 year old Caleb E. Lee exited the front passenger door and fled on foot into a wooded area where a K9 unit began tracking Lee. The k9 alerted police to a stump where police found more than ten grams of pot and nearly twenty grams of methamphetamine. Lee was arrested when he returned on foot to the stump where he had placed the drugs. Lee will be arraigned this afternoon.
