Ongoing Drug Investigation In Hawkins County Results In Additional Arrests

Hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine are being taken off Hawkins County streets and nearly one hundred indictments handed down as a result of an ongoing, multi agency, multi state investigation into drug distribution in Hawkins County. Since 2016 the Sheriff’s Department has discovered several drug trafficking organizations that were distributing kilograms of the illegal drug into Hawkins County. Now a third drug trafficking organization has been hit by Hawkins County investigators resulting in 14 more individuals being arrested for drug distribution charges. Each of the latest individuals indicted face a minimum 120 month mandatory prison sentence. Additional indictments are expected as the investigation continues.
