Georgia Man Accused of Enticing Johnson City Child Due in Court Today

A Georgia man charged with kidnapping a child and taking them to a motel is due in Washington County court today.

James Cranfield, 64, is facing a variety of charges including aggravated kidnapping and sexual exploitation of a minor. Police were notified of a kidnapping on July 11th, and a report said Cranfield did not know the child but was able to entice them and come with him to a motel and several businesses before dropping them off at home. Investigators also found child pornography on his cell phone, which none of which included the child related to the incident.

Cranfield will go for a preliminary hearing today at 1:30.
