Body Found On Appy Trail Identified

In an update to a story we first told you about on Tuesday, according to a Facebook post by the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, the body found Monday on the Appalachian Trail has been identified as 53 year old David Ladley Swanson, a resident of North Carolina. Ladley’s body was found around two pm Monday along the Carver’s Gap area. An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of Swanson’s death.
