Virginia Department of Corrections Announces Changes to Visitation Policies for Inmates

New visitation policies are going into place to combat contraband entry into Virginia State Prisons.

According to a release from the Virginia Department of Corrections, to help prevent prohibited material from entering prison grounds, inmates will be required to complete and submit a visiting list of up to 10 people which can only change twice per year. Exceptions to this rule includes prisoners with more than ten immediate family members and minors, who are excluded from the list.

The change takes effect January 15th, 2020.
