Education Weekly: Virginia Ranks 3rd in Nation for K-12 Achievement
Virginia public schools have received a notoriety ranking concerning K-12 student achievement.
The 2019 Quality Counts report from Education Weekly ranks the Commonwealth third in the nation on things such as student performance in reading and mathematics, graduation rates, and achievement on AP examinations. Virginia graded at a B-, only trailing Massachusetts and New Jersey.
Earlier this year, the report graded Virginia at a B on Chance for Success, and a C on school finance. The entire report is available here.
