October…Fire Prevention Month In Kingpsort

With conditions already primed for potential fires in the region, October is Fire Prevention Month in Kingpsort. The Kingsport Fire Department is launching this year’s campaign called Not Every Hero Wears A Cape, Plan and Practice Your Escape! Even though fires are a real threat with the dry conditions, Barry Brickey with the Kingsport Fire Departments says home fires continue to be a significant problem in regards to fire safety.
Statistics show fire departments across the country responded to 357 thousand home structure fires during 2017, resulting in more than 26 hundred deaths and more than ten thosuand fire injuries.
