Strongwell EHS Director Appointed to Newly Formed SWVA Energy Research & Development Authority
An Environmental, Health, and Safety Director for a well-recognized company in Bristol has been appointed to the Southwest Virginia Energy Research and Development Authority.
Lydia Sinemus, Strongwell EHS Director, received the appointment for the new research team from Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, which was established during this year’s General Assembly. Sinemus joins 10 other members including Brad Kreps, Clinch Valley Program Director. The board began work in September and will work on tasks like promoting renewable energy sites, promoting energy workforce development, leveraging the strength in energy research and workforce development of Virginia’s public and private institutions of higher education, supporting the development of pump storage hydropower in Southwest Virginia and energy storage generally, and assisting energy technology research and development by promoting the development of a Southwest Virginia Energy Park.
