Wise County doctor to give up license as part of plea agreement

A Wise County doctor has agreed to give up his medical license and plead guilty to a number of charges as part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.

Court documents say Raymond Michael Moore’s office and home were searched as part of an investigation into health care fraud and prescribing large amounts of narcotics which resulted in patient deaths.

Moore was arrested and charged in July and then waived his preliminary hearing in US District Court.

The agreement will be evaluated by a federal judge on Dec. 19.
