Wise County man sentenced to one year for domestic violence

A Wise County man entered an Alford plea in Circuit Court Thursday in relation to domestic violence charges placed against him in June.

Gary Lyle Hudson, 57, of Coeburn, will spend one year in jail after being accused of strangling his former girlfriend and then throwing her cell phone into the woods to prevent her from calling the police. Investigators found the female victim had injuries to her throat and bruises all over her body.
