Johnson City Man Charged With Resisting Arrest, Stolen Vehicle

A Johnson City man is jailed after evading arrest and auto theft charges in Carter County. Sheriff’s authorities in Carter County were notified that 30 year old Jordan Branch of Happy Valley Road was in possession of a stolen silver Honda Accord. Deputies located and identified the vehicle near Keenburg Road. Branch refused to stop for authorities and accelerated as it continued up Gordon Church Road where the car become wedged on an embankment on a dead end road. Branch refused to exit the car and an officer pulled his service weapon and forcefully removed Branch from the vehicle. The officer then placed Branch in handcuffs. As part of the investigation, officers also discovered a set of digital scales and a bag of syringes. Branch was charged with evading arrest and motor vehicle theft as well as violation of Probation.
