8 Student Journalists At Kingsport Middle School Receive International Awards

A Kingsport middle school is receiving international acclaim as eight student journalists receive honors for their work on the school’s newspaper publication. Honoring the world’s best, Youth Journalism International has handed out international awards for John Sevier Middle School’s newspaper, The Sequoyah Scribe. Now in its eleventh year,the newspaper received the awards that recognizes student writing, reporting, art, photography and multimedia skills in news, sports, opinion, and other categories. A panel of expert experienced judges evaluate the entries, which came from high schools and individuals from around the world who write for school papers, blogs or other media. The international award winners are listed below.
