NFL MVP Mahomes to Gate City’s McClung: ‘Texas Tech is where is at!’
Gate City native Mac McClung has narrowed down the choices of where he will finish his college career after entering the NCAA’s transfer portal last week.
One school is Wake Forest in the ACC who has Steve Forbes at the helm. Forbes recruited McClung years ago while he was head coach at ETSU.
The other six include Brigham Young, Texas Tech, USC, Memphis, Auburn, and Arkansas.
McClung would have to sit out a year wherever he goes but he will have two years of eligibility remaining following two years at Georgetown.
Virginia’s all-time leading high school scorer got a nudge from Texas Tech star and NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes who tweeted a message to McClung on Thursday urging him to come to Lubbock.
That first jersey in red is where it’s at!! Come on and make a run at the natty in Lubbock! #GunsUp https://t.co/m4BNWLtFem
