NEW: Sunday’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway renamed ‘Food City presents the Supermarket Heroes 500’
Workers who have been part of the front line response to COVID-19 will be honored with Sunday’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway named just for them.
Officials with BMS and K-VA-T Food Stores have announced this weekend’s event in Thunder Valley will be named Food City presents the Supermarket Heroes 500.
Food City CEO Steve Smith said his associates and their counterparts nationwide have gone beyond the call of duty to help families keep food stocked in pantries and meals on the table during the pandemic and this opportunity will help thank those in the grocery industry who appear on and behind the scenes at your local store.
Bristol’s event is scheduled for Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Out of safety, NASCAR Cup Series officials continue to currently prohibit fans from attending races.
