Smyth County Sheriff’s Office investigating armed robbery at Rural Retreat gas station

Investigators in Smyth County, VA continue their search for a suspect in an armed robbery case at a gas station in Rural Retreat.

Earlier this week, the Sheriff’s Office says the alleged robbery happened at Easy Stop Exxon on the Lee Highway, where an employee told deputies a white male subject entered the store and demanded money from the register while holding them at gunpoint.

The clerk described the suspect leaving the store in a truck with a loud exhaust traveling north on the Lee Highway. Anyone with information about this incident should contact the Smyth County Sheriff’s Office at (276)-783-7204.
