Sessions Court Judge Jim Niddifer dies following illness
Court officials in Washington County, Tennessee have confirmed the death of General Sessions Court Judge Jim Nidiffer.
Nidiffer’s passing comes just four months after he announced he was taking a leave of absence from the bench to receive medical treatment. Governor Bill Lee announced three weeks ago that Janet Vest Hardin would be a special judge in Nidiffer’s absence.
Nidiffer was an Elizabethton native and served as an associated judge in Johnson City Municipal Court until he was elected to the Sessions Court position in 2006.
