Bond denied for Carter County kidnapping suspect

One of two Carter County men accused of kidnapping and assault earlier this year has his request for bond denied.

Cody Joshua Madden will remain in jail following a decision rendered by Judge Lisa Rice in Criminal Court in Elizabethton.

Police said Madden, 29, and Brandon Blackwell picked up the victim who was walking in the Highway 321 area and then took him back to Madden’s home where he was beaten and held against his will.

Madden has another court data set for November 5th.
