Town of Mountain City to not endorse Halloween this year amid COVID-19
The Town of Mountain City has issued a statement saying it will not endorse Halloween this year.
A news release from the town says in its interest of protecting the health and safety of residents due to COVID-19, it is encouraging not to go door to door to trick or treat. Officials say for those who choose to participate in any events on Halloween, they ask those to be complete by 8:00 p.m.
Several churches and organizations are hosting Halloween related events, as well as the Johnson County/Mountain City Community Center, who will hold a drive-thru trick-or-treat on Oct. 31 beginning at 3:00 p.m.
