Situation At Ballad Is One Of Staff Shortages…Medical Reserve Corp May Get Involved

Virginia Health and Human Resources Director says the situation at Ballad Health is not one of PPE or other COVID-19 resources but a shortage of staff. Dr. Dan Carey says he has been in talks with Ballad officials and thousands of people have signed up to help the Virginia Medical Reserve Corp which may be able to assist Ballad Health.Carey says he has even discussed the possibility of transporting patients from Ballad up the I-81 corridor to other health care providers who aren’t as short staffed as Ballad.
