Carter County Schools among Northeast TN systems to start Spring semester with virtual classes

Carter County Schools has announced they will start off 2021 with remote instruction for their students.
An update published Friday from Director of Schools Dr. Tracey McAbee said the system will begin the Spring semester in a completely virtual format Jan. 4-8. The following week, the system plans to transition to a hybrid model and continue with that learning format through the end of the month.
Should the COVID-19 situation improve in the county and allow for it, McAbee says the district will then transition to a traditional in-person learning format starting Feb. 1, but will consult with local health officials to receive guidance on how to move the semester forward.
