Vaccinations Top 175 Thousand In Virginia…Commonwealth Moving Into Phase 1b

More than 73 thousand vaccine doses have been administered in Virginia in the past week, bringing the total number of vaccinations to more than 175 thousand since the Commonwealth received the first shipment in mid December. Progress on vaccine administration in Virginia is dependent on a steady, predictable supply of doses available in hospitals and other providers. A recent announcement by the Federal Government indicating vaccine doses will be released to states is an encouraging sign. Also good news is, the Commonwealth’s move into phase 1b of the vaccination process even as work continues on vaccinations for health care professionals in the phase 1a population.
