Kaine, Warner asking President Biden to include Southwest VA in COVID-19 vaccine pharmacy rollout

Virginia U.S Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine are urging President Biden to not leave out Southwest Virginia in relation to the Federal COVID-19 Vaccination effort.

Warner and Kaine sent a letter to the Biden Administration following a report of no CVS pharmacies in Southwest Virginia participating in the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program for COVID-19 vaccines. In the letter the two senators stated they believe the Biden Administration is working in good faith to best distribute and administer a limited number of vaccine distributions.

The letter was sent to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Acting Secretary Norris Cochran, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director, Rochelle Walensky. The two applauded the program designed to help get more Americans vaccinated, while underscoring the need for the program to include provider in Southwest Virginia.
