TDH: Visitation restrictions on nursing homes, long-term care facilities to be lifted Sunday

State restrictions on visitation at nursing homes and long-term care facilities are set to be lifted on Sunday.

Tennessee Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey announced that in a media briefing on Tuesday, saying the decision was due to nursing homes completing their vaccinations of nurses and residents, in addition to having nearly all assisted living facilities completing vaccinations.

After the state visitation restrictions are lifted, the individual facilities would then be authorized to decide whether to keep their own restrictions in place.
