UPDATE: ‘Evelyn’s Law’ signed by Governor Bill Lee

The name of a 1-year-old toddler from Sullivan County will now be etched forever in the laws of the Tennessee Code.

Governor Bill Lee on Friday afternoon posted a picture on his social media accounts showing him placing his signature on Evelyn’s Law—named in honor of homicide victim Evelyn Boswell who was found dead on family property after twisted tales from her mother who remains in jail awaiting trial for homicide.

The bill now requires all parents who live in the state to report their child missing within 24 hours of the disappearance.
