24-player ejection following boys’ basketball fight leads to sanctions from TSSAA

The TSSAA has brought the hammer down on two boys’ high school basketball programs following a short bench-clearing brawl during a regional playoff game.

Association Executive Director Bernard Childress said teams from William Blount and Farragut have been eliminated from the tournament due to their actions and a bye will be placed in the bracket.

A total of 24 players were ejected during Tuesday’s contest that was late in the fourth quarter when the incident occurred. William Blount was also ordered to pay a $250 fine for players leaving the bench during the altercation.
