Virginia State Troopers Will Be Out In Full Force This Holiday Weekend
Last year 16 individuals lost their lives in traffic crashes on Virginia roadways. And Virginia State Troopers are beefing up patrols to try to reduce the number of fatalities this extended Memorial Day holiday period. VSP join law enforcement around the country for Operation Crash Awareness Reduction Effort or (C.A.R.E.). The program is state sponsored and is intended to reduce crashes, fatalities and injuries due to impaired driving, speeding, and failing to wear a seat belt. Troopers cited 659 individuals for seat belt violations last year.
