Bristol resident charged in 2023 death of 3-year-old
A Sullivan County grand jury has indicted a Bristol, Tennessee man in connection to the death of a 3-year-old toddler.
A report from city police says Dexter S. Montgomery, 35, was arrested Friday without incident and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
The child was reported unresponsive on December 19, 2023 at an apartment complex located at 330 Godsey Road, according to investigators, and later died four days later at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville.
The death was investigated as suspicious and police then received the child’s autopsy that listed homicide as the cause of death.
Montgomery is being held on a $250,000 bond.
