Fewer crash fatalities reported in TN and VA over holiday weekend

Fewer crash fatalities were reported in Tennessee and Virginia this memorial day weekend compared to last year. THP recorded eight fatalities between Friday night and early Tuesday morning. Last year, during the Memorial Day holiday period, there were 14 fatalities recorded. Virginia State Police said there were seven people killed in crashes Friday through Monday, down from 13 last year. Virginia state troopers cited 405 drivers for violating the hands-free driving law.
