Bristol TN council votes to rescind agreement with Boyd Sports….for now

The Bristol, Tennessee City Council voted Tuesday night to rescind — for now — a proposed agreement between the city, school system, and Boyd Sports for the operation of a new baseball stadium at Tod Houston Field. The school board informed the council that it would not sign it until an agreement was reached regarding its use of a second facility on Melrose Street that the council purchased in 2022 for a new recreation center. Boyd Sports President and COO Chris Allen hopes city and school leaders will be able to “work through their differences” and added, Boyd Sports remains fully committed to bringing Appalachian League baseball to Bristol, TN.
