Child rape suspect arrested at Mountain City motel gets 25 years in prison

A suspect in a child rape case in neighboring Ashe County, North Carolina has pleaded guilty and received a 25-year prison sentence.

Adam Michael May was taken into custody at a motel in Mountain City, Tennessee in July–four days after warrants were secured for his arrest on a list of charges including statutory rape, indecent liberties and first degree statutory sex, according to a report released by the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office.

Police began investigating Ray after the juvenile’s guardians reported him to police.
