Lottery Board: More than $600M in wagers placed on sports bets in Virginia
Over $600M have been wagered on sports bets in Virginia through the first months of legal online betting.
Data released last week from the Virginia Lottery board reported that $628.7M in wagers have been placed, while licensed operators have payed a little over $1.5M in taxes. More than half of bets have been placed on college and pro basketball through March.
Licensed operators that have received the highest percentages of bets placed with their platform include FanDuel at 53% and Draftkings at 24%.
