Southwest Virginia Woman Pleads Guilty To Dragging Police Officer With Vehicle

A Wise County woman is facing up to 76 years in prison and will be sentenced in May after admitting to dragging a police officer with her car while fleeing a traffic stop. 40 year old Christi Jo Russell admitted in court she dragged the Norton Police officer after a scuffle when the officer attempted to handcuff the suspect, and she drove away with the officer partially hanging out the drivers side window. Russell is also charged with operating a meth lab in her home with two juveniles present.
