Health Study Shows Regional Differences in Virginia
A recent health study shows that the affluent suburbs of Northern Virginia are the healthiest communities in the state while the lower income and more rural ones of the southern and western portions of the commonwealth are at a greater rsik for health problems. This is due to health factors including behaviors such as tobacco use, access to care, social and economic conditions and physical environment. The study shows that Washington County, the City of Norton and Scott County are the healthiest in Southwest Virignia while Wise and Dickenson counties along with the city of Bristol have the most health issues.
