Kingsport Fire Calls Down, Loss From Fires Up

For the second year in a row, the Kingsport Fire Department is reporting a decrease in the number of calls it is receiving. But, the overall dollar amount when it comes to the loss from structure and vehicle fires topped more than three million dollars last year. That’s the highest amount since 2009. The number of calls received by the department dropped below eight thousand for the first time since 2013.
