Man Drowns While Trying To Save Wife From Drowning

A so far, unidentified man drowned Sunday, while attempting to save his wife from drowning. The tragedy happened Sunday near Wilbur Dam in Carter County. Witnesses say the man and woman were fishing from the bank when the woman fell in and soon went under. Her husband jumped in to save her and he never resurfaced. The woman, who also has not yet been identified was rescued by members of the Carter County Rescue Squad.Her husbands body was later recovered by rescue personnel.
