Hearing Scheduled Wednesday For Hawkins County Man Charged With First Degree Murder

A Hawkins County man accused of killing a Scott County Virginia man is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday. John Martin Jr, will have a preliminary hearing on first degree murder charges. Martin Jr, was initially charged with kidnapping after holding his wife against her will in their Hawkins County home. When deputies arrived, Martin Jr, surrendered and gave investigators information leading them to Cameron Church Road in Yuma, Virginia. Authorities then discovered the body of 20 year old James Pierce. Investigators believe the murder was a result of a love triangle.
