Man in Custody After Driving Drunk and Striking Utility Pole
A man allegedly under the influence while driving was arrested by police after he wrecked early Thursday morning.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that Bryan Rasnake was behind the wheel of a 2002 silver Ford Explorer heading Eastbound on Highway 394. According to police, the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. This caused the pole to break, dropping power and phone lines onto the road.
The THP arrested Rasnake following a sobriety test, to which he did not pass.
Rasnake was arrested on charges of DUI, failure to exercise due care, and failure to maintain lane.
The man was transported to the Bristol Regional Medical Center, where he was given a blood test and medically cleared to be admitted to the Sullivan County Jail.
