Kingsport Set To Issue Bonds For Major Improvements And Upgrades
The City of Kingsport has plans to renovate the Justice Center, expand the Kingsport Aquatic Center and provide improvements at Bays Mountain Park…and they plan to complete the work with the help of more than 17 million dollars in bonds. Just over 17 million dollars in debt is rolling off the books this fall and the city plans to go to the bond market to help generate more than 14 million dollars in new debt to perform the work. Other projects included in the bond issue includes three million dollars to relocate power lines on Main Street and more than a million dollars in water line upgrades.
