Police force Morristown suspect from home with tear gas following fatal stabbing

Officers had to deploy tear gas to oust a fatal stabbing suspect out of an East Tennessee home.

Trent Balson, 25, of Morristown is charged with voluntary manslaughter following the Tuesday morning incident at a home in Cocke County where Winnifred Walker, 23, was found dead with several knife wounds. The statement from the sheriff’s office said Balson and another suspect, Chelsea Sutton, 23, escaped to a home in White Pine where they were later taken into custody. The report also said Balson claimed he stabbed the victim in self-defense following a fight.
