More than two million dollars in federal funding is headed to Southwest Virginia families and children to provide additional resources for Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Congressman Morgan Griffith says the two million two hundred thousand dollar grant is awarded to People Incorporated of Virginia, based in Abingdon for the duel Head Start programs. Griffith says Early Childhood well being is important to the development of children and the grant money will greatly advance the ability of Head Start to help families and children in Southwest Virginia flourish.
