Two Northeast Tennessee Properties Being Considered For National Register Of Historic Places

A state board in Tennessee will decide later this month if two local properties will be nominated to the National Register of Historic Places. The Tennessee State Review Board is meeting to approve sending nominations, including Kingsport’s Hosiery Mill building in Sullivan County and Johnson City’s Postal Savings Bank and Post Office in Washington County. . Also under consideration are properties in Blount, Rhea, Montgomery and Wayne Counties in Tennessee. The 13 member board have backgrounds in history, architecture and archaeology, among related fields. The board meets September 16.
