ETSU Quillen College of Medicine professor earns VA grant for COVID-19 study
An ETSU Quillen College of Medicine professor and doctor has been awarded a $330,000 grant by the VA to study COVID-19 immune responses.
Dr. Jonathan Moorman’s project titled “Characterizing trained immune response to COVID-19” is one of 18 studies to receive funding from a pool of more than 104 applicants submitted to VA Medical Centers across the country.
Moorman says, “the goals of the project is to determine the importance of innate immune responses in responding to repeat exposure of viral antigents as well as identifying trained innate immune memory responses to COVID-19 antigens following recovery from the virus.”
